Sukhumvit Area
Sukhumvit is the largest neighbourhood in Bangkok and hence has the most number and variety of hotels. Known for great shopping, fine restaurants and exciting nightlife, Sukhumvit is a good choice for first time visitors to Bangkok.

Siam Square Area
For our purposes Siam Square area is defined as the area running along Rama Road I and adjoining Ploenchit Road to the north & Rama IV Road. to the south. Perhaps the most exclusive shopping area in Bangkok.

Silom Area
Bangkok's central business district with many international companies and foreign embassies. Hotels are generally smaller independent 'boutique' style properties with international standard facilities and personalised service.

Pratunam Area
North of Siam Square Pratunam is the area around Ratchadamri and Petchari intersection. Best known as the centre for garments and handicrafts hotels in Pratunam are popular with wholesalers, exporters and price conscious tourists.

Riverside Area
Although not an area per se, yet for our purposes, we have put all the hotels that are located along the Chao Praya River and Charoen Krung Rd. For example Bosstel Bangkok Hotel and the Menem Riverside Hotel are in this area.

Rattanakosin Island
Bangkok's oldest and most historical area Rattanakosin Island is home to Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Phra Kaew, Royal Palace. This is where you will find Khaosan Rd., famous for budget hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.

Airport Area / Suvarnabhumi
The Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located about 30 km east of downtown Bangkok. In addition to the Novotel Suvarnabhumi Bangkok located at the airport, there are several hotels on eastern side of Bangkok just minutes from airport that are good transit hotels.

Din Daeng / Don Muang Area
With Bangkok MRT (subway) running through the heart of Din Daeng, this area is one of the fastest growing areas and quickly becoming the new commercial centre of Bangkok. North of Din Daeng is Don Muang, Bangkok's domestic airport and commercial area.

Chinatown Area
Bangkok has a small Chinatown located along Yaowat Road. Hotels in this area are 2-3 star properties catering to mostly to local business travelers. Colourful and interesting, Chinatown is an interesting option for visitors looking for budget accomodation off the beaten track.
